CIC Directs Delhi Government to Put Biomedical Waste Info On Web
The Central Information Commission has directed the Delhi government to put all the information pertaining to bio-medical waste generation in the national capital on its web site by the end of next month.
"Information relating to bio-medical waste generation is very important and it is necessary that in public interest this information is disseminated widely", Information Commissioner Shailesh Gandhi said.
Gandhi was hearing the plea of an RTI applicant who had sought information pertaining to units generating medical waste but the same was not provided to him.
"The Commission therefore directs the Principal Secretary to ensure that complete information relating to bio-medical waste generation in the city including the information received by the Directorate in pursuance of its Public Notice is made available on the website of the Directorate before February 28, 2010", he said.
