Philippines: Senator Urges Probe on Banned Beauty, Whitening Products
MB Philippines – Senator Manuel Villar asked the Senate to investigate why some beauty and whitening products that have been banned by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are still being sold in the market. In Senate Resolution 310, Villar urged the Senate Committee on Health and Demography to check how these toxic products that have already been banned by the FDA for its high mercury content are still publicly sold. more

Amsterdam: Conference on Climate Change Advises Reducing GHG Emissions & Green Technology Usage
STAHO – The head of the United Nations climate chance secretariat, Christiana Figueres, said that all countries, especially in the industrial world, must deepen their commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), and to launch new funds to help developing countries adapt to global warming. According to UN scientists, warming by more than 2°C could lead to severe changes in climate, which would in turn affect agriculture, sea levels, water resources, human health and many species’ survival.  more
