Facilities and organizations committed to environmental sustainability know that this work requires focus and attention every single day. And while kicking off new programs, organizations simultaneously work very hard to maintain existing programs.

This April 22, 2010 marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. What better day to kick off new programs, educate around existing ones, celebrate accomplishments and give back to the community.

The interest in sustainability is booming. Practice Greenhealth Environmental Excellence Award applications increased by 40 percent since last year (2009)!

In reviewing the award applications, the Practice Greenhealth Awards team noticed that most of the award applications mention hosting an Earth Day Event.

This page has been created to share some Earth Day strategies for those just getting started and to recognize the collective impact from all membership facilities and the collective imperative to do no harm.
