Ana Belluscio - Global communications manager

Ana is Health Care Without Harm's Global Communication Manager, and is responsible for implementing a communications strategy as well as managing the communications of projects and programs for Health Care Without Harm's Global Team.

Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ana is has over 15 years of experience in science journalism and communication, and has managed science communications for Argentina's National Scientific and Technical Research Council. 


Lucila Citcioglu - Climate initiatives coordinator

Lucila CitciogluAs Climate Initiatives Coordinator, Lucila plays a central role working with the global team, regional offices and strategic partners, to ensure climate initiatives are impactful and implemented collaboratively across Health Care Without Harm.

Lucila has a clinical background in Environmental Health and a Master's Degree in Public Health. Prior to joining Health Care Without Harm, Lucila worked in several health care facilities where she led environmental health programmes and initiatives..


Neydi Cruz - Sustainability associate director

Neydi leads the global Sustainability program at Health Care Without Harm, focusing on plastics, sustainable procurement, health care waste management, and safer chemicals in collaboration with partners across our global network. She is based in Mexico City and has more than 15 years of experience building global networks and working in sustainability, international cooperation, foreign affairs, climate change and social development.

In her role before joining Health Care Without Harm, she worked as Deputy Director-General for International Cooperation at the Mexican Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources managing dozens of projects and staff. Neydi has experience as the negotiator for Mexico on multiple international bilateral and multilateral agreements including initiatives on climate change.


Mariano De Donatis - Global chief program officer

With over twelve years of experience working with civil society networks and coalitions to influence change at the national and global level, Mariano brings a tremendous amount of experience to help build and strengthen collaboration, management and governance for Health Care Without Harm.

Prior to joining Health Care Without Harm, Mariano worked as Oxfam´s Global Programme Manager, leading its advocacy work in BRICSAMIT countries - Brazil, Russia, India, Indonesia, China, South Africa, Mexico and Turkey. He led multi-issues campaigns, managed a flagship program to empower civil society networks and supported the Oxfam confederation's development in the Global South. 


Afreen Fatima - Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning officer, India

Afreen holds a master's degree in forest management, focusing on environmental management. Based in India, she has experience working in the areas of livelihood, natural resource management, social and behavior change communication, and agriculture. Afreen has closely worked with rural communities to incorporate their lived experiences into her work. With over two years of professional experience, she has been involved in monitoring and evaluating various projects across diverse thematic areas.

 


 Kathleen Jeanty - Director of Global Communications

Kathleen Jeanty

For over two decades, Kathleen has led integrated communications efforts for organizations of various sizes in various industries, including global health, international development, education, government, economic development, and pharmaceuticals. The award-winning communications visionary has used her communications acumen to help organizations articulate and amplify impact stories for global projects in Haiti, Benin, Burkina Faso, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Niger, Senegal, and Togo.

Kathleen earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Concentration in Communications from Babson College and is finishing her Master of Science in Health Communications from Boston University.


Jasminka Jokic - Global Finance Coordinator 

Jasminka Jokic has over 22 years of experience working for international nongovernmental organizations such as the International Committee of the Red Cross, Oxfam Great Britain, and UNDP. During her time with Oxfam Great Britain, she worked as the finance manager and later as the regional management accountant and finance coordinator for the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Africa. She has extensive knowledge of working with donors and financial management.


Josh Karliner – Director of global partnerships

Josh Karliner

Josh Karliner works with Health Care Without Harm to build a zero emissions, climate resilient, and more equitable health care sector that advocates for a healthy climate and a just transition. He has been with Health Care Without Harm since 2005, establishing and co-developing a series of initiatives including the organization’s Global Green and Healthy Hospitals Network. Closely collaborating with the World Health Organization, Josh spearheaded Health Care Without Harm’s successful worldwide campaign to eliminate mercury in healthcare and led its more recent work with WHO and the UK COP Presidency to secure commitments from more than 60 governments for sustainable, low-carbon, climate resilient health care.

He is the author of two books along with a wide variety of publications on global environmental and health policy, including most recently two groundbreaking reports: one that defined health care’s worldwide climate footprint and the second that set forth a Global Road Map to decarbonize the sector. Prior to joining Health Care Without Harm, Josh co-founded and directed three NGOs, worked for Greenpeace International, and taught at the University of San Francisco. Josh is a member of the board of directors of the Global Climate and Health Alliance, and the Save the Waves Coalition. He lives in San Francisco, United States.


Chandan Khanna – India project manager

Based in India, Chandan has more than 12 years of experience working with leading organizations in South Asia. He has been part of key studies like the economic valuation of tiger reserves in India, aimed at highlighting the conservational value of native ecosystems. 

Chandan has a professional background in environment and climate change, and holds a Masters in Forest Management from Indian Institute of Forest Management Bhopal.

At Health Care Without Harm, Chandan oversees the implementation of the India programs.


Cecilia Leone - Global communications consultant

Cecilia LeoneAt Health Care Without Harm, Cecilia provides communications support and leverages her project management expertise across the different programs and initiatives of the Global team.

Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Cecilia has over 10 years of experience in communications in different fields, including science outreach, internal communication, public relations, and social media management. She has worked with a variety of institutions, including public-sector organizations, industries, and press & marketing agencies.


Shweta Narayan - International climate and health campaigner

Shweta Narayan is an India-based environmental health researcher and has over two decades of campaigning and advocacy experience in environmental justice issues in India. Her work focuses on providing legal, media, and scientific research support to the residents of pollution-affected communities and workers exposed to toxic chemicals.

Since 2014, she has been coordinating the Healthy Energy Initiative (HEI) program in India. As part of the program, she has worked with several sub-national governments and health professionals in developing climate and environmental health policies. She is a trained Social Worker with specialization in Criminology and Correctional Administration from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, India.


Bharat Nayak - Communications officer, India

Bharat Nayak is Health Care Without Harm's Communication officer, India. He brings a blend of expertise in journalism, content creation, communication strategy, and campaigning for both for-profits and nonprofits.

Bharat Nayak was instrumental in building and shaping the brand of a digital media startup, The Logical Indian—a bootstrapped venture focused on impactful news—from the ground up. After a decade of experience as a journalist, intrapreneur, and media literacy trainer, Bharat now aspires to reshape communication around one of the world's most significant challenges: climate change. He is based in the steel city of India - Bokaro, in the state of Jharkhand.


Diana Picon Manyari - International climate director

Diana Picon ManyariDiana has over 20 years of experience, working with international organizations in development and public health programming. At Health Care Without Harm, she oversees the global climate program and the implementation of the organization’s climate strategy. She also leads the team's work on national and subnational policy for climate action.

Diana has lived and worked in South Sudan, Thailand, Myanmar, and Ethiopia and has provided technical assistance to organizations working in West and Southern Africa and Latin America.

Prior to her work with Health Care Without Harm, Diana's experience focused on monitoring, evaluation, learning, and management roles in resilience to climate change, food security, infectious diseases, and immunizations. She holds a Master of Arts in International Development from George Washington University and recently completed a Master of Science in Health Policy, Planning, and Financing from the London School of Economics and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.


Sanskrithi Thakur - Climate and sustainability data scientist

Sanskrithi ThakurSanskrithi leads the implementation of Health Care Without Harm’s climate and sustainability tools strategy. Before joining the organization, she worked as a climate researcher focused on understanding agriculture and climate adaptation in Germany and India and helping organizations achieve their net-zero goals. As her pastime, she writes for newspapers on climate change topics and volunteers to teach STEM to students.

Sanskrithi is based in Hyderabad, India, holds a Bachelor's degree in Technology and an MBA in Sustainable Development and Management from Nalanda University, India.


Nick Thorp - Network director, Global Green and Healthy Hospitals

Nick Thorp joined Health Care Without Harm in April of 2013 and serves as the Network Director for Global Green and Healthy Hospitals (GGHH). He has over 15 years of experience working with a variety of NGOs conducting toxicological research and developing innovative and interactive tools to advance education and public engagement around issues related to community and environmental health.

Nick holds a dual degree from the University of Oregon in International Environmental Studies and French. He is based in Oregon in the United States.


Ruth Stringer – Science and policy coordinator

Ruth has been working with Health Care Without Harm for over ten years, coordinating work on waste, but also providing expertise on chemicals, pharmaceuticals and procurement. She is a member of the International Solid Waste Association healthcare waste working group, a technical advisor to the Africa Healthcare Waste Management project that Health Care Without Harm is leading with UNDP and WHO and advises on waste management policies internationally.

She maintains the organization’s database of sustainable technologies and promotes sustainable technologies for low and medium income countries. This includes supporting partners in Africa and Asia to implement waste autoclaving and develop biodigestion as an option for materials such as food and pathological wastes that can be hard to manage in places with limited waste disposal infrastructure.


Mariano Zamorano – Membership and program assistant, Global Green and Healthy Hospitals

Mariano lives in Buenos Aires, and after graduating in Journalism and Communications, he started working at the Argentine Ministry of Health, where he collaborated in the development of training courses on waste management in health facilities, as well as in the promotion of sustainable public procurement. In his free time, Mariano loves reading (novels and non-fiction books) and playing football with his friends.

In his role in Health Care Without Harm, Mariano works as a Membership and Program Assistant consultant, managing network memberships for Latin America and Global accounts, and supporting global communications.


Latin America

Carolina Gil Posse - Director of programs and communications for Latin America

Carolina leads the communications strategy for Latin America and produces all content to support it. She coordinates the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals network initiatives in the region and the training program on sustainability, climate change and health. She also coordinates the team responsible for delivery of the Health Care Without Harm program portfolio in Latin America. She has worked for Health Care Without Harm since 2012, based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Carolina is a communications and journalism professional, with 18 years of experience in media and more than 10 years in the nonprofit sector. She has a degree in Journalism and another in Audiovisual Arts Education. She also holds a Master's in Journalism with a thesis on climate change communication and media coverage from a health perspective in Latin America. She is a PhD student in Social Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires.


Andrea Hurtado Epstein - Climate program manager for Latin America

Andrea has over eight years of experience in climate, environment, and sustainable development policy. Before joining Health Care Without Harm, she served as Coordinator for Sustainable Development at the Mexican Foreign Ministry, overseeing Mexico’s positions in multilateral environmental agendas, including as a member of Mexico’s delegation to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. 

Prior to this position, from 2016 to the end of 2018, she worked for the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in a project advising the Directorate General for the 2030 Agenda at the Mexican Presidential Office. From 2013 to 2016, she was Director for International Development Fora at the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation. Andrea holds a BA in International Relations from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and a Masters in Environmental Policy from the University of Cambridge.


 Claudia Paz Giraldo - Technical projects facilitator for Latin America

Claudia provides technical assistance to the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals network, and leads the implementation of the annual call of Menos huella, más salud (Less footprint, more health) awards. She also collaborates to strengthen the impact of the SHiPP project in the region.

Based in Cali, Colombia, she has a degree in environment and natural resources management. She has managed hazardous and non-hazardous waste, clean energy, water saving and carbon footprint programs, among others. In 2016, she joined the Secretary of Health in Cali, where she created the Green Hospital Program for a Healthy Cali for private and public healthcare institutions.


Jaquelina Tapia - Technical manager of programs for Latin America

Jaquelina leads the technical aspects related to Health Care Without Harms's programmatic portfolio in Latin America, managing the implementation of specific programs and providing technical guidance to the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals (GGHH) regional members.

Jaquelina also coordinates the regional implementation of the Sustainable Health in Procurement Project (SHiPP) and the Menos huella, más salud program, to support GGHH members in reducing their environmental and climate footprint.

Jaquelina is an environmental engineer from the Universidad Nacional del Litoral (Argentina). She has completed postgraduate studies on sustainable development and climate change, and is a specialist in Occupational Hygiene and Safety (Faculty of Engineering, Universidad de Buenos Aires).
